Viacommunity thanked moms by giving back on Mother’s Day with the debut of the #MyDayMyCause contest on Twitter. Viacom asked its Twitter followers and employees for their vote on which women’s organization should receive a $1,000 donation in honor of Mother’s Day. Users participated in the contest by following @Viacommunity and tweeting their favorite women’s organization using the hashtag #MyDayMyCause.
The highly successful campaign, which ran the week leading up to the holiday, demonstrated the reach, engagement and impact of Viacommunity and the commitment of our audience. Seventy-seven percent of followers tweeted and 1,232 users viewed the page. The winner of the contest was City of Hope, an independent, world-renowned biomedical research, treatment and education institution committed to turning breakthroughs in the laboratory into promising new therapies.
