Paramount Volunteer Crew. Lights. Caring. Action. LogoThe Paramount Volunteer Crew is a dedicated group of more than 300 employees who meet monthly to help plan and organize service projects. The Volunteer Crew’s projects range from helping out in local schools to cleaning up community parks and cheering on athletes at the Special Olympics — along with a strong commitment to HIV/AIDS charities and initiatives.

In 2012, the Volunteer Crew worked with 25 different organizations — including Hollygrove, Baby2Baby, the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control, the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center and more — totaling more than 1,400 hours of community service.

Volunteer CrewThe Volunteer Crew spends a significant amount of time on education projects, expanding Paramount’s reach beyond the partner schools served by its Kindergarten to Cap & Gown program. Employees volunteered more than 350 hours in 2012, helping high school students with their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) forms, reading to elementary school students as part of the National Educational Association’s Read Across America Day, assembling backpacks full of needed school supplies and facilitating weekend programming at the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood. In partnership with the “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Los Angeles, employees also served as “Dream Speakers” in an elementary school, telling students about the importance of education and sharing insights on their own education and professional paths.Volunteer Crew

In December, the Volunteer Crew held its annual holiday giving drive, encouraging employees to “adopt” deserving children and families by buying gifts for them from their holiday wish lists. In 2012, the Volunteer Crew “adopted” 106 children and families during this drive.

“In partnership with the ‘I Have a Dream’ Foundation, I had the incredible opportunity to spend an afternoon with a group of sixth graders at Daniel Freeman Elementary School in Inglewood, California. The students’ insightful, engaging questions about different education and careers paths left me inspired and hopeful for their futures. These moments remind me of why I love giving back!”
